About the Position

The Senior Operations Assistant will work in a collaborative, supportive and impactful team environment. This individual will be responsible for but not limited to analysing and processing claims under the applicable reinsurance contracts, supporting underwriters and reserving actuaries in the collection and analysis of data related to any claims presented to the company by brokers and Cedents, participating in collaborative projects. We also provide exposure to other functions like policy processing and pairing to allow the analyst to better understand the full reinsurance process, with an aim to specialise in claims in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Claims analyst

  • Investigate and handle claims arising from various classes of business including Property, Casualty and Specialty and jurisdictions, in accordance with company standards, procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure all handled claims are properly processed and reserved.
  • Ensure alignment and compliance with global reserving practices and strategy. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key brokers as well as internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Assist and provide feedback to Underwriters related to claims as required. 
  • Participate in client visits and audits as required. 
  • Assist manager in developing reports.
  • Assist team with testing and development of tools.
  • Liaising with global operations and claims team to troubleshoot complex issues and ensuring processes are efficient and meet S.O.X 404 requirements.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors and vendors

Operations

  • Responsible for policy processing and cash pairing.
  • Liaising with brokers and underwriters to ensure information is captured accurately and on a timely basis.
