Data Fabric team is building the next generation Data fabric to solve for Business, Analytics and growing regulatory needs. Vast amounts of data assets have been accumulated through the years. Data fabric built on emerging technologies will facilitate the data being inspected, cleansed, transformed for support decision-making
The DevOps Engineer is responsible to drive engineering best practices and adoption within Markets Data team - ISG Data & Regulatory group. DevOps Engineer will be responsible for Build, Test and Deploy Engineering sol. The position will require a fundamental understanding of DevOps tools, practices and standards in today’s multi-tier application architectures. Traditional development along with scripting and automating processes in CI/CD pipelines
Key Responsibilities:
- The role will be responsible for Implementing agile and DevOps culture across Olympus applications within ISG Data & Regulatory group.
- Collaborate with Dev, SA and IT support team to ensure smooth deployment, automation and remediation of EOVS and CAMP items
- Strong scripting or programming skills for automating tasks (Python, Shell)
- Knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools
- Familiarity with NoSQL and relational databases
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and collaborate with the Dev team to resolve them
- Participate in Engineering Excellence initiatives to drive tool adoption and productivity
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Demonstrate ownership and initiative taking
- Project will run in iteration lifecycles with agile practices, so experience of agile development and scrums is highly beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred
- 6-8 years’ experience in analyzing and defining risk management data structures
Skills:
- The position requires a good understanding of common developer tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, Git, Eclipse, Jenkins with a clear understanding of how to apply them to development processes.
- The candidate must be comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment with experience in scripting automation.
- Strong demonstrable experience in system solutions design (coming from a development background)
- Fundamental understanding of Atlassian Bitbucket, noSQL/Oracle, Jira, Confluence, Python, Maven, Jenkins, ELK
- Experience with CI / CD tools
- Strong understanding of working in an Agile environment.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and DevOps tools (Docker, Chef etc.) a plus
- Assess the list of packaged applications and define the re-packaging approach
- Knowledge of process automation and engineering will be plus.
- Demonstrated influencing, facilitation and partnering skills
- Track record of interfacing with and presenting results to senior management
- Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
