What You Will Be Doing:

The Senior Network Engineer is a key member of the IS&T infrastructure team, responsible for architecting and managing enterprise-level network systems. This role involves leading network design initiatives, troubleshooting advanced issues, and ensuring the security and reliability of all network operations. This is an onsite role that reports directly to our Infrastructure Security Manager at our Everett, WA office.

You Will:

  • Architect and deploy LAN/WAN, VPN, and cloud-based network solutions to support business needs

  • Monitor Fortinet based network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements to improve speed and reliability

  • Configure and manage Fortinet firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls to safeguard network assets

  • Resolve escalated network issues and provide Tier 3 support for complex problems

  • Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration records, and performance reports

  • Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations with other IT systems

  • Work closely with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to ensure seamless operations

  • Train and mentor junior network engineers and contribute to team development

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of network engineering experience

  • Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), network hardware (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper), and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Experience with network security tools and protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and NAC systems

  • Strong problem-solving abilities (layers 2 & 3, WiFi setup and tuning) and capacity planning experience

  • CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications preferred
