We are seeking a Network Engineer to operate internal data communications systems (LANs/WANs), plan and implement network configurations, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors for hardware installation. Responsibilities include project implementation, training, proposal support, project planning, cost analysis, and vendor evaluation.
Your responsibilitiesDesign and implement WAN and LAN connectivity for customer and Itron networks.
Coordinate, perform, or assist in the installation of connectivity hardware and circuits including analog and digital communication.
Propose, develop, analyze, and implement statistical reports to determine the efficiency of installations and enhancements.
Troubleshoot networked environments and program communications equipment at Itron and customer locations.
Characterize applications and system configurations for networked environments.
Document production configurations and procedures.
Participate in the development, implementation, and testing of production systems and disaster recovery plans.
Work with internal and external customers, vendors, and other support technicians to determine and implement adjustments to achieve optimum system performance.
Document, report, and track problems to appropriate vendors or departments.
Install, administer, and upgrade systems.
Effectively utilize tools such as network analysers and diagnostic tools.
At least 6 years of experience in a similar role
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
You have solid experience in switching (e.g. Cisco, Arista)
Experience with cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
Relevant experience in automation
Experience in Routing (e.g. OSPF, BGP, RIP).
Experience working with firewalls such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
Experience with Load balancers (A10, F5)
Experience with Next Gen Data Center (Network automation, virtualization)
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑changing environment.
Experience working in a multi-time zone team
Experience working with enterprise customers

Depending on your experience, this role is expected to offer between 15,000,000 HUF and 26,400,000 HUF annually, plus eligibility for an individual bonus of up to 10% of annual salary. We review compensation regularly to stay competitive in the market
