What you will do:
- Serve as the primary alternate to the Team Lead and assume operational control in the Team Lead's absence.
- Maintain continuous operational surveillance of enterprise network infrastructure and transport systems.
- Triage, isolate, and remediate Layer 1 through Layer 3 network incidents.
- Escalate complex outages with comprehensive troubleshooting documentation.
- Provision, deploy, configure, and optimize enterprise-class routers and multilayer switches.
- Execute Cisco IOS/IOS-XE operating system upgrades and firmware refreshes.
- Coordinate with telecommunications carriers and hardware vendors to resolve circuit issues.
- Plan and execute Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs) following change management processes.
- Apply STIGs and remediate IAVM/patching vulnerabilities.
- Manage TACLANE, Type-1 Inline Network Encryptors, and COMSEC accountability requirements.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related STEM field with 5+ years of progressive network engineering experience; OR Equivalent combination of formal military technical training, specialized certifications, and practical experience in lieu of a degree.
- Expert-level proficiency with VLANs, VTP, Port Security, STP/RSTP/MSTP, 802.1Q trunking, and L2/L3 ether channels.
- Extensive experience with EIGRP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.
- Experience troubleshooting Layer 1 and Layer 2 transport fabrics.
- Hands-on experience with KG-17XX series encryptors, HAIPE devices, and GEM-X.
- 5 years' experience resolving complex network hardware, circuit, and transmission issues.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- An active DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification, such as one of the following: CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security+ CE Optional
