Overview:
TNS has an excellent opportunity to join our skilled Global Network 2nd/3rd Line Operations team, requiring the application of your experience and expertise in a varied role. We’re looking for someone to bring their troubleshooting mind to our most complex technical challenges.
Primarily covering escalation support to TNS Financial markets, Payment markets and core network infrastructure support teams, the role will expose you to a wide range of platforms and technologies including, Arista, Cisco & Juniper routing and switching in multiple large scale BGP and multicast networks.
You will have the opportunity to work in depth, to understand, remediate and prevent complex and obscure problems from the physical to application layer.
Role Summary:
- Working with a wide range of platforms and networking technologies. Arista, Cisco Nexus/ISR, Juniper MX/EX, F5 LTM, Fortigate.
- A role for someone with a creative mind ready to solve complex technical problems and be innovative with the troubleshooting process.
- Short term impact mitigation, complex fault analysis, service / design improvement.
- Be a leading example of teamwork, impart experience, and influence.
Responsibilities:
- Support resolution of escalated service incident tickets.
- Support major incident management.
- Incident root cause analysis.
- Problem management resolution.
- Network maintenance.
- Providing on-call support (rota based) and occasional out of hours work.
- Support for disaster recovery activities.
- Provide training, knowledge transfer and ongoing support to TNS Global Service Support Centre technicians.
- Support evolution of documentation and processes.
Requirements:
- Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
- 4-5 years’ experience in a mission critical network operations environment, ideally within the payments or financial marketsservices arena.
- Proven knowledge and experience of TCP/IP.
- Knowledge and experience in BGP, NAT, HSRP, IPsec VPN, MPLS, ISIS, IP Load balancing
- Extensive hands-on experience with the configuration of Cisco, and Juniper routers & switches
- TAC case management and escalation process.
- Proven ability to effectively project-manage their work.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of the banking, payments or financial markets sectors.
- Experience supporting or building:
- VPN technologies such as LDP MPLS, BGP EVPN.
- Fortinet Firewalls.
- F5 Load balancers
- Knowledge and experience working with the Linux OS.
- Linux/Unix scripting skills
- PCI – awareness or experience
