About this opportunity:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will work in a highly technical environment where you are responsible for the full lifecycle of IP network solutions. We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer IP Infrastructure to strengthen our team in Maastricht. In this role, you will design and deliver high and low-level IP network solutions for our customers, working end to end from design, lab testing, integration, and implementation to final acceptance. You will collaborate with a wide team of telecom and IT professionals and work with the latest hardware and technologies.
What you will do:
- Translate High-Level and Low-Level Designs into implementation plans and configurations
- Set up and maintain lab environments, including router configuration and validation
- Execute network changes in line with Change Management processes
- Support deployment and operations teams with technical expertise
- Perform network modelling, analysis, and capacity planning
- Lead technical discussions with customers and advise on architecture and technology choices
- Create technical documentation, presentations, and proposals
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
The skills you bring:
You recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
- Cisco CCNP certification (minimum)
- 5-10 years of experience in IP networking and infrastructure engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and project delivery
- Accurate, analytical, and comfortable working in structured environments with high-impact network changes
- Fluency in English
- Dutch proficiency is significant a plus
You have strong knowledge of:
- Experience with Catalyst Center/DNAC and SD-Access
- Metro Ethernet, MPLS, Unified MPLS, Segment Routing
- Expert-level skills in routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP v4/v6 - iBGP and eBGP)
- Cisco hardware (ASR1k, ASR9k, Nexus)
- Network automation (Python, Ansible, REST/NETCONF, YANG/JSON/YAML)
- VPN technologies (EVPN, Inter-AS VPN, Carrier Ethernet)
- High availability features (NSF, graceful restart, BFD, link aggregation)
- Service provider virtualization (e.g., Cisco ACI).
