About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer to enhance automation capabilities across our global network environment within the Secure Network Services (SNS) organization.
In this role, you will focus on designing, developing, and implementing automation for network infrastructure, configuration management, and operational workflows. You will work with Python, Ansible, APIs, CI/CD frameworks, and modern toolchains to streamline processes and improve overall reliability, speed, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, cloud, and security teams, and play a key role in setting automation standards and practices.
This position is ideal for network engineers who have strong automation experience, or automation engineers with meaningful network domain expertise.
You'll have strong experience in Python and Ansible and enjoy building automation around routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN technologies. We need someone with a passion for network-as-code, CI/CD for infrastructure, and API-driven tooling

What You'll Do
- Lead the implementation of scalable automation solutions for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and test automation
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Security, and Product teams to identify automation opportunities and reduce manual bottlenecks
- Develop reusable automation frameworks and tools that improve consistency, reliability, and delivery speed
- Build and enhance Ansible Playbooks, GitHub workflows, GitHub Actions, AtWork framework, and Nautobot
- Work with at least one of the following: Python, JavaScript, React.JS, YAML
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to roadmap planning and technical decision-making
- Identify issues, risks, and organizational challenges and help move solutions forward
- Develop, test, and audit automation using CI/CD frameworks to support development, testing, and infrastructure operations
- 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent through work experience, training, military service, or education
- 4+ years of experience in automation engineering, DevOps, or software development
- 4+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible, Terraform, and Selenium
- 4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- 4+ years delivering automation solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
- 4+ years demonstrating strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Work with at least one of the following: Python, JavaScript, React.JS, YAML
- 4+ years of Rest API experience
- 4+ Network Automation-Specific Libraries knowledge of required
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies such as Cisco Viptela, Cisco Meraki, and Fortinet
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Experience in automation and GenAI environments
- BS/BA degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related studies
- Network Protocol experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS desired
