Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, the Senior Network Advisor will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Agropur’s critical network infrastructure. The main responsibilities include identifying and translating business needs into technological solutions; acting as a technology facilitator and subject matter expert to lead the design, modeling, and security requirements of both existing and new infrastructure solutions; guiding operational strategy by defining standards and best practices; designing and maintaining infrastructure documentation; playing a key role in the technology roadmap; and mentoring other members of the network team within the network and firewall operations team.


This role is essential to ensuring the scalability, resilience, and modernization of Agropur’s network infrastructure by bridging strategy and execution, and by enabling consistent, secure, and high-performing network services across all sites and cloud environments.

What you will be responsible for on a day-to-day basis:


The Senior Network Advisor operates at the intersection of operations and architecture:


  • Translates enterprise architecture and business needs into practical, implementable network designs
  • Acts as a technical authority and escalation point for complex network solutions (Level 3+)
  • Bridges operational teams and infrastructure architecture by ensuring design feasibility, standardization, and long-term operational sustainability
  • Drives continuous improvement by aligning operational execution with long-term technology roadmaps

Solution Design and Engineering

  • Design, develop, and validate complex network solutions
  • Produce architecture diagrams and implementation standards
  • Develop test plans and validation frameworks

Operational Excellence and Lifecycle Management

  • Define standards, best practices, and procedures
  • Lead lifecycle management (capacity, upgrades, obsolescence)
  • Oversee complex provisioning and operational stabilization activities

Governance and Risk Management

  • Ensure quality and compliance in change management
  • Identify risks and define mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adoption of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, asset management)

Technology Strategy and Roadmap

  • Contribute to the network technology roadmap
  • Evaluate vendors and emerging technologies
  • Align solutions with enterprise architecture

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Coach analysts and strengthen team capabilities
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives (IT/OT, cloud, security)
  • Interface with managed service providers, external vendors, and stakeholders

 

The profile that will thrive in this role:


  • 10+ years of experience in large enterprise network environments
  • Demonstrated progression from operational roles (L2/L3 support) to design, engineering, and advisory responsibilities
  • Proven experience acting as a lead technical authority or subject matter expert in complex infrastructure initiatives
  • Experience in hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem, cloud, OT/plants)

Technical Expertise

  • Expert-level knowledge of core network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise network platforms (Cisco routing/switching, wireless)
  • Deep expertise in firewalls and network security technologies (Palo Alto or equivalent)
  • Solid experience with SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Arista Velocloud or equivalent)
  • Experience in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP connectivity, hybrid architectures)
  • Strong understanding of network performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools

Architecture and Design Capabilities

  • Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and resilient network designs
  • Experience producing architecture diagrams, design documentation, and implementation standards
  • Ability to evaluate trade-offs (cost, performance, risk, security) and recommend optimal solutions

Operations and Governance

·       Strong understanding of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, asset management)

·       Experience defining and enforcing standards, best practices, and operational procedures

·       Experience in capacity planning, lifecycle management, and risk identification

·       Data-driven approach with experience using KPIs and metrics to guide decisions and improvements

Assets

• Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet FCP/FCSS/FCE)
• Cloud networking certifications (AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer)
• Experience with automation and infrastructure as code (Python, Ansible, APIs)
• Experience in manufacturing environments or environments integrated with operational technologies
