About Karbon

Karbon is the global leader in practice management software for growth-minded accounting firms. We provide an award-winning, highly collaborative cloud platform that streamlines work and communication, enabling the average accounting firm using Karbon to save 16 hours per week, per employee.

We have customers in 34 countries and have grown into a globally distributed team, with our people based throughout the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, have a fantastic team culture built on our values, are growing rapidly, and making a global impact.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Administrator to lead the management and maintenance of our Entra/Azure based infrastructure.

In this role, you will oversee internal network operations, proactively identify and escalate issues, and manage network and device-related challenges. You’ll implement security enhancements, collaborate with external vendors, and contribute to designing and developing a strategic roadmap to meet future infrastructure needs.

About you

  • Balance Security, Maintainability and User Needs —You know how to balance user needs with security and maintainability and can communicate risks and potential issues to non technical stakeholders. You understand when it's important to push back, when to compromise and how to work with other teams to reach a great outcome
  • Work effectively as part of a team— you understand the need to build relationships and trust across the organization. You work closely with other teams to understand current and future needs. You are happy to answer questions and offer advice to teams who may reach out for your assistance
  • Autonomy—You are inherently curious, focused on continual learning and faced with challenges and direction rather than predefined solutions, you engage fully and creatively with problems. If a discrepancy was found in a log, you’ll track this down to its conclusion and are capable of working both independently and with other teams such as Security.
  • Own your work—You take pride in your work, feeling a deep sense of responsibility for the products we develop and ensuring we keep our customers' valuable data secure. This sense of ownership is paramount, and you share this commitment.
  • Bring your passion and personality—Your creativity, curiosity, and authentic self make the team stronger. If you've worked in highly political environments, you'll find our culture, free from office politics and valuing openness and authenticity, a refreshing change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve issues proactively — Take initiative in spotting and addressing network and identity-related challenges, ensuring a seamless device experience for the team and supporting them by proactively provisioning and managing employee devices.
  • Administer identity and workspace systems — Manage and secure Microsoft Entra, Okta, and Google Workspace environments, maintaining secure and efficient collaboration across the organization.
  • Manage policies for users, devices, and EDR — Establish and refine security-focused policies through Intune, JAMF MDM, and EDR tools, balancing strong security with accessibility to keep systems safe and user-friendly.
  • Implement security best practices and monitor systems — Collaborate with the Security team to implement best practices across Internal IT. Diligently monitor logs and security alerts, applying security-focused detections to safeguard our infrastructure.
  • Shape a strategic roadmap and foster vendor relationships — Work with external technology vendors and shape a strategic infrastructure roadmap to support Karbon’s growth, ensuring future needs are met with security and efficiency.
