Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions (a Taylor company) is seeking a experienced Senior .Net Developer to provide hands-on development and technical leadership within an enterprise application environment. This role requires a strong C# developer with deep experience supporting VB.NET legacy systems, advanced SQL expertise, and the ability to mentor developers and guide technical direction.

The ideal candidate will lead by example—writing high-quality code, conducting code reviews, assigning and guiding development work, and partnering closely with QA, BA, and operations teams. This position plays a key role in modernizing our platform while ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability in a production-critical environment.

This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead development projects from design through delivery, ensuring high standards for code quality, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability

  • Provide day-to-day technical leadership for the development team by mentoring junior and mid-level developers and serving as a technical point of escalation

  • Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices across the team

  • Assign development tasks, guide implementation approaches, and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule

  • Support developers by helping troubleshoot complex technical challenges, production issues, and performance bottlenecks

  • Maintain, enhance, and debug existing VB.NET applications while actively driving modernization efforts in C#

  • Lead and contribute to refactoring efforts to reduce technical debt and improve long-term system stability

  • Participate in application design, system architecture, and technical decision-making with an enterprise-level mindset

  • Collaborate closely with QA, Business Analysts, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and deliver reliable solutions

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures with a focus on performance and data integrity

  • Analyze and resolve database-related issues, including long-running queries and resource contention

  • Design, implement, and support integrations using RESTful APIs and service-based architectures

  • Ensure proper error handling, logging, and monitoring are built into applications

  • Support release planning, deployment readiness, and post-release validation activities

  • Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams of multiple developers, contributing to shared ownership and team success

  • Continuously evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements to technology, tools, and processes

You Must Have:

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience in an enterprise or production environment

  • Strong expertise in C# with the ability to lead new development and modernization initiatives

  • Very strong working knowledge of VB.NET, including the ability to support and enhance legacy systems

  • Advanced SQL development experience, including complex queries, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and performance tuning

  • Hands-on experience with Git-based source control and tools such as Azure DevOps or TFS

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring developers and guiding technical growth within a team

  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions, make sound engineering decisions, and take ownership of outcomes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve issues

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Self-starter who can work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Industry experience including direct marketing, e-commerce, print, graphic design and insurance and financial services

  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based platforms and services

  • Background supporting enterprise-scale, production-critical applications with high reliability requirements

  • Exposure to Agile or hybrid development methodologies

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment processes

  • Understanding of secure coding practices and compliance considerations

  • Prior experience in a technical lead or senior mentoring role is a strong plus

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
