Bring your energy to Aggreko as Senior Mechanical Engineer; you will be responsible for the mechanical design of all systems and subsystems of complex power generator packages. As part of a specialist mobile and modular generator design team focusing on diesel powered products you will be the experienced and senior Mechanical Engineer. Responsible for the mechanical design of all systems and subsystems of complex, market leading and innovative containerized diesel-powered generator packages.

What you’ll do:
Lead and provide valuable design input for the development of new and existing products to improve performance, efficiency, and extend the product range.
Support Mechanical systems requirements capture & management, design, development, integration, validation and commissioning activities for the complete Aggreko manufactured genset product range.
Agree general approach, priorities and milestones with Powergen Engineering Manager. Plan and drive each task/project to complete to specification and on time.
Design new products and product modifications using established engineering solutions and fundamental engineering principles.
Ensure that product development and design work meets company engineering standards and good engineering practice.
Complete and lead designs of engine jacket water cooling, ventilation, packaging, protection, mounting and fuel systems for a range of generators.
Design of novel and market leading conceptual arrangements that provide product differentiation in the industry.
Drive improving HSE performance via product design and operational guidance ensuring safety is given top priority.
You are:
Engineering degree, preferably Mechanical
Experience: 9+ years of experience in resolving issues and optimizing commercial use of technologies/components.
Prior experience leading design and development of gas or diesel reciprocating powered generator packages, including safety standards and proven ability to explore alternate solutions to enhance design performance.
Experience in a design/development role within a commercially demanding manufacturing environment, with a firm grasp of design processes and computer-aided engineering.
Experience with controlled simultaneous engineering using stage-gated Product Development processes.
Experience with engine, alternator, coupling, AVM, mounting frame power train calculations, and approval (alignment, stiffness, torsional vibration, component specification).
Capability for cooling system calculation and sign-off (pipe/power losses, cooling performance in extreme ambients/altitudes, noise/vibration).
