The role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the detailed design and FEA analysis of rotating and vibrating equipment. The role is required to analyse difficult, and occasionally complex, engineering problems.

Responsibilities also include directing efforts of other Engineers, Designers and Drafters. This role will support the design, engineering and delivery of new and complex product design projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Interpret, organise, execute, and coordinate design engineering assignments involving unique and complex problems ensuring compliance to Local Legislation and Regional Industry Standards.

  • Contribute to the development of design standards/guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures in line with to Local Legislation and Regional Industry Standards.

  • Plan, organise and supervise engineering activities for major projects 

  • Represent respective product line/projects at meetings and conferences.

  • Prepare patents and technical papers to be presented at conferences or for technical publications.

  • Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria.

  • Analyses complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.

  • Review and approve design drawings.

  • Review customer specifications.

  • Participates actively in team environment and contributes to successful completion of team goals.

  • Accept accountability for both individual and team performance.

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.  Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.

  • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

What you bring
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification with 5+ years' experience in a similar role.

  • Ability to analyse and solve complex engineering problems through the application of advanced knowledge.

  • Experience in the vibration analysis of equipment using first principles and FEA methods.

  • Experienced in the development of project design concepts and criteria.

  • Proficient in the use of ANSYS and SolidWorks is preferred
