About the Role:
- Lead mechanical design coordination and construction delivery for new data center facilities and major upgrades, ensuring solutions align with project milestones, budget, and quality standards.
- Conduct comprehensive technical due diligence and land suitability assessments during site acquisition, specifically evaluating cooling capacity, water availability, and infrastructure constraints.
- Design and review critical mechanical systems, including chilled water infrastructure, CRAH/CRAC units, and redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N) to support high-load environments.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on design intent, risk mitigation, and project handover requirements.
- Collaborate with construction, operations, and procurement teams to manage project schedules, cost estimates, and the integration of tenant-specific mechanical requirements.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Building Services Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of technical project management experience, specifically in data center design, construction, or large-scale mission-critical projects.
- Licensed Chief Electrical Engineer (or equivalent) with a deep understanding of MEP coordination and redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N).
- Solid mastery of Japanese regulatory standards (JIS, Technical Standards for Electrical Equipment) and building/fire codes.
- Proven ability in site due diligence, contractor management, and proficiency in AutoCAD or related design tools.
