KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position listed below in support of a major Offshore Project. The role will be based at either the Client's Office or the Contractor's Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Purpose

The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static) is responsible for the engineering, design review, and technical management of static equipment for ADNOC Offshore Greenfield projects. The role ensures that all mechanical engineering deliverables comply with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and project schedules throughout FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Engineering & Design
  • Lead the mechanical engineering activities related to static equipment for offshore oil and gas facilities.
  • Prepare and review design basis, specifications, datasheets, and technical requisitions for static equipment.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables for:
    • Pressure Vessels
    • Separators
    • Heat Exchangers
    • Columns and Towers
    • Filters and Strainers
    • Pig Launchers and Receivers
    • Storage Tanks
    • Fired Heaters (where applicable)
  • Ensure equipment design complies with project requirements, operability, maintainability, and safety standards.
  • Review fabrication drawings, calculations, inspection requirements, and material selections.
Vendor & Procurement Management
  • Prepare technical bid evaluations (TBE) and technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors during design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery stages.
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Support procurement teams in equipment selection and technical evaluations.
Project Execution & Coordination
  • Interface with Process, Piping, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Corrosion, and HSE disciplines.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, Design Reviews, Constructability Reviews, and Model Reviews.
  • Monitor engineering progress and identify technical risks and mitigation plans.
  • Support project schedule and deliverable management.
Construction & Commissioning Support
  • Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Review technical queries, concession requests, and deviation requests.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Mechanical Completion, and Pre-Commissioning activities.
  • Support troubleshooting and startup activities as required.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards and international codes.
  • Promote safe engineering practices and adherence to HSE requirements.
  • Participate in audits, technical assurance reviews, and quality assessments.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet project quality and schedule requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's Degree is an added advantage.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Offshore Greenfield Projects.
  • Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.
  • Proven experience on ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or major EPC projects.
  • Experience with offshore production facilities, process platforms, wellhead platforms, and associated facilities.

  • Proficiency with PV Elite, Compress, HTRI, Microsoft Office Suite, and SmartPlant Systems
  • Master's degree
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional certification

  • Experience with ADNOC Offshore greenfield projects and EPC/EPCM execution projects
