About you and this role

Dow Consumer Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and customer focused individual to fill an open position of Senior Marketer, located in Seoul, Korea.

This position will be responsible for driving regional strategy definition, market research, and implementation of a robust growth plan for Dow Consumer Solutions with a focus on the Korea Industrial & Chemical Processing (I&CP) Market as well as locally supporting the execution of our Strategy and related Marketing activities for the Korea Building & Infrastructure (B&I) Market. The market needs for silicone solutions are growing in many exciting applications like Composites, Textiles, Polyurethane Additives, Coatings and Performance Chemicals.  Silicones are attractive solutions to provide performance and sustainability benefits. 

For I&CP Market, this individual will lead the cross-functional Market Management Team (MMT) for Korea that will support the development and execution of the regional and marketing plan. To drive growth, this individual will be responsible for collecting market and customer insights to build a robust innovation portfolio that positions Dow as a market leader in this segment. Ability to interact with key customer and distributor personnel in order to translate customer needs to create compelling value propositions will be critical to success.  Finally, this individual will help shape our go to market strategy to optimally serve the market as well as improve our digital marketing capability to ensure our products are easily found and adopted by customers and stakeholders throughout the value chain that are seeking solutions.

For the B&I Market, this role will be expected to execute market mapping, market research and business development projects under the guidance of (Sr) Marketing Managers. They also help lead regional implementation of strategies championed by (Sr) Marketing Managers, liaising with Sales and other functions in order to identify and execute relevant commercial opportunities.  This role will also help prepare for the local implementation of offerings and capabilities already existing in neighboring regions or adjacent segments. 

Marketing experience along with technical knowledge is strongly desired. Highly developed communication skills in both Korean and English are required for engagement with customers, internal R&D/Technical Service and fellow regional marketers and business leaders across Dow.  Knowledge of Japanese language is a plus.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Work to understand market sizing, dynamics, competitive intelligence, customer dynamics, customer journey to create an effective plan to grow in that environment.
  • Support the implementation of regional market plans under the guidance of (Sr) Marketing Managers.
  • Collect market and customer and market insights to help build a robust innovation portfolio that positions Dow as a market leader in a segment.  Lead select Innovation Stage Gate programs for regional opportunities.
  • Help shape our go to market strategy to optimally serve the market as well as improve our digital marketing capability to ensure our products are easily found and adopted by customers and stakeholders throughout the value chain that are seeking solutions.
  • Work cross functionally to initiate, develop, and drive a segment growth pipeline. Ability to interact with key customer and distributor personnel in order to translate customer needs to create compelling value propositions will be critical to success.  
  • Liaise between our Global Sustainability Team and our Regional Marketing Teams to accelerate the monetization of Dow’s Sustainability offering.
  • Liaise between our Business Digital Team and our Regional Marketing Teams to drive demand generation and growth via Digital channels.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering/chemistry, marketing or other business related major.
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial role (sales/marketing)
  • 3+ years’ experience in B2B marketing role
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong preference for experience in Silicone or Industrial, Construction or Chemical related industries.  
  • Strong customer facing experience (Sales, Marketing).
