Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to process large volumes of healthcare data. Build and manage data workflows using Python programming and Structured Query Language (SQL) to automate data ingestion, transformation, and validation. Work with U.S. healthcare datasets including Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial healthcare claims, member, plan, and provider data. Ensure high data quality, accuracy, and consistency through validation rules, reconciliation checks, and error-handling mechanisms.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain analytical datasets and data models to support payer analytics use cases such as claims processing, payment analysis, utilization management, and fraud detection.
- Optimize data processing performance and efficiency for large-scale datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analytics teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document data pipelines, workflows, data definitions, and technical processes to support audits, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) and adherence to HIPAA regulations through established data security and privacy practices.
- Participate in Agile software development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Position may work at various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States. Telecommuting permitted.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Information Technology or a related field plus four (4) years of Experience in healthcare data domain. Must have four (4) years of experience in the following: Python Programming, Structured Query Language, Working with healthcare data such as claims, member, plan, or provider data, HIPAA compliance and handling of Protected Health Information (PHI), Data performance optimization techniques, including large-scale data processing and cost optimization strategies, Supporting advanced healthcare analytics use cases.
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary range: $143,000 to $145,000 per year
