Job Description

The Senior Manager, Value-Added Services (VAS) will support the growth of our Product VAS portfolio across all VAS categories such as Risk and Data Solutions, Issuing and Acceptance Solutions, and Network Solutions. The position will have significant interaction with Canada market team and regional team and collaborate with cross-functionally within Visa such as Sales, Risk, Finance, Consulting and Analytics, and Client Services. The incumbent will play a key role in delivering high-impact projects and lead complex cross-functional initiatives supporting the sales and long-term portfolio growth of Visa Value-Added Services in Canada.

Important to the role are a deep understanding of the payments landscape, a customer-obsessed mindset to understand our clients’ needs, and a strong business acumen to achieve long-term growth. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive VAS revenue and goals by working with market and regional VAS teams, Sales teams, and other relevant cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute VAS strategies to accelerate the growth of VAS in Canada. Support the launch of new product initiatives, product enhancements, and acceleration plans.
  • Support pre- and post-sales engagements including but not limited to evaluating potential opportunities, creating client pipeline, and executing against sales plans.
  • Execute activities throughout the sales cycle such as sales pitch, product demos/webinars, commercial offer, contracting, optimization, and audit management.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the assigned VAS solutions set. Driving rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to facilitate sales opportunities and long term portfolio growth
  • Assess the feasibility of rolling out new products and solutions into the market, understand and provide local market requirements that will influence the global product roadmap, and develop go-to-market and commercialization plans.
  • Engage with clients during & post the sales journey to pitch, negotiate commercials and showcase value from usage.
  • Develop an outside-in point of view on key industry trends and market opportunities across a variety of different payment areas, and the associated impact for Visa
  • Manage ongoing progress tracking on VAS sales, strategic initiatives and functional KPIs. Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior management.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry (banking / acquiring / processing)
  • Ability to independently lead and manage complex cross-functional projects and processes
  • Natural curiosity to learn about new products and systems, quickly grasp new concepts, and effectively communicate the benefits to clients and internal stakeholders
  • High energy, motivated team player, able to effectively lead across functions and teams to drive projects and key initiatives to completion
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Self-starter, highly organized, with strong attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills – comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholders across all levels
  • Outstanding communication skills – able to present complex concepts in a simplified and understandable manner that is tailored to the needs of varying audience
  • Strong collaborative and flexible working style, and able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple concurrent initiatives and activities a must
  • Experience in sales strategy and commercializing new solutions

This is an individual contributor role, reporting into Senior Director, Value Added Services.
