We are seeking an experienced and detail‑minded Underwriter to support underwriting activities for post‑issued individual insurance policies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessment (covering medical, financial, residential etc.) after policy issuance, including benefit change/post-issue alterations, appeal cases and non‑disclosure within agreed turnaround time and ensure underwriting decisions complied with company’s rules and guidelines.
- Review suggested cases for junior underwriters.
- Work collaboratively with distribution channels and customer service teams by handling complex cases, and serving as an expert resource for risk assessment to provide the highest quality and service levels to customers
- Collaborate with cross-teams to support other duties as assigned, including but not limited to participation in new product/system projects, initiatives focus on processes/procedures/practices enhancements etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 10 years of experience in life and health insurance underwriting experience.
- Prior exposure to post‑issue underwriting, such as appeals and non‑disclosure cases, strongly preferred.
- Detail-minded with strong underwriting knowledge, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Proven experience in distribution channel support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent team player with strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently and manage cases with minimal supervision.
