Job Purpose
In the context of the continued expansion of the Group, the Treasury and ALM function seeks to further strengthen its complement by adding a (Senior) Manager.
This position offers a great opportunity to broaden your skills in the field of Treasury, ALM and balance sheet management. The Treasury and ALM function is a relatively small team, so you will be able to work on many different topics and develop in different areas. The MeDirect group is at an exciting point where we will embark on a new growth path on which the Treasury and ALM function will have an impactful role in growing the balance sheet in a controlled manner.
Duties and responsibilities
- Portfolio management of securities in the Treasury Book (sovereign, sub-sovereign, covered bonds, asset back securities) – selection and proposal of investments and portfolio monitoring.
- IRRBB management – closing of positions, selection of hedging strategies
- Wholesale funding: management of own securitisations (new transactions and in-life management of outstanding transactions).
- Balance sheet management within risk appetite limits on liquidity, funding, capital, leverage and others.
- Support in management of Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP).
- Support in management of behavioural prepayment models for mortgages (Belgian and Dutch) and non-maturing deposits (Belgian).
- Preparing materials and present for ALCO, Credit Committee, EXCO, Board of Directors and Regulators and collaboration with other functions of the bank on the areas impacted by Treasury and ALM activities.
- Participation in capital allocation activities, management of Net Interest Income of the bank.
- Support in strategic projects: new asset classes, portfolio acquisitions etc.
- Follow up and resolution of recommendations from Risk, Internal Audit, External Audit and Regulators.
- Any other duties as may be determined from time to time by the Head of ALM & Treasury.
Required knowledge, skills and experience
- A relevant degree (or equivalent experience) in Financial Services, Business Administration or Finance.
- Above 7 years of relevant experience in Financial Services.
- Experience in securitisation industry would be considered a plus – such as working as ABS portfolio manager, arranger, rating analyst, trustee or as originator.
- Familiarity or affinity with banking regulation: CRR/CRD, IRRBB guidelines, LCR, Securitisation Regulation etc.
- Familiarity with IFRS accounting in a context of a bank would be considered a plus, especially with hedge accounting provisions.
- Practical project management skills would be considered a plus.
- Spoken and written English professional proficiency is considered a must, proficiency in Dutch or French would be considered a strong advantage.
