Job Description:

As a Technical Publications Manager, you will oversee and manage the creation, production, and delivery of technical documentation related to semiconductor hardware and software products and solutions. You will lead a team of technical writers and collaborate with engineering, product management, and other departments to produce clear, accurate, and high-quality documentation that meets the needs of our internal teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team of technical writers to produce high-quality technical documentation, including software API reference documentation, user manuals, installation guides, data sheets, application notes, and release notes.
• Establish and enforce documentation standards, processes, and best practices to maintain consistency across all technical publications.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and product management teams to gather technical information and ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.

• Embrace and drive adoption of cutting-edge methods and tools including generative AI, open-source projects, and crowd-sourced documentation.
• Ensure documentation meets customer requirements and regulatory standards.
• Provide support for the creation of technical training materials and presentations.
• Manage project timelines and resources to ensure on-time delivery of documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in technical publications, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience managing a team of technical writers in a highly technical environment, preferably in software, semiconductors, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor technologies, products, and processes is desirable.
• Experience with authoring tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker) and XML languages including XML-based Experience with “doc-as-code" methodologies using markdown and GitHub repositories.
• Proficiency with DITA, HTML, and markdown.
• Experience with the Microsoft suite, Oxygen, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Visual Studio Code, Git, GitHub, and content management systems.
• Experience with multiple documentation formats (print, online, etc.), using tools such as Oxygen, Heretto, and content management systems (CMS).
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with software documentation and semiconductor documentation.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices (e.g., ISO, IEC).
• Experience with localization and translation processes for global markets.
