About the Team
The Sales Development leadership team is responsible for nurturing the next generation of Workday sales talent. We sit at the intersection of Marketing and Sales, acting as a strategic bridge that drives our go-to-market engine. You will lead a team of high-performing SDR Managers and individual contributors, ensuring they have the tools, coaching, and motivation to shatter their targets.About the Role
As a Senior Manager, you are a leader of a large regional segment. Your goal is to scale the SDR organization while maintaining a culture of high performance and continuous professional development. You will be a key stakeholder in regional planning, pipeline forecasting, and cross-functional strategy.
In this role, you will:
Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor a team of SDRs and/or frontline Managers, focusing on career progression and building a "talent bench" for the wider sales organization.
Strategize: Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to align on territory goals, lead-to-opportunity conversion rates, and account-based marketing (ABM) execution.
Optimize Operations: Identify gaps in the sales process and implement new workflows, tech stack integrations, or messaging frameworks to improve efficiency.
Analyze Performance: Use data-driven insights to forecast pipeline growth, track KPIs, and provide regular executive-level reporting on the health of the region.
Recruit & Onboard: Lead the charge in hiring top-tier, diverse talent to expand the team, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience that mirrors Workday’s values.
About You
About You: Basic QualificationsExperience (The "OR" Requirement): * Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of experience in Sales Development, Inside Sales, or Demand Generation, with at least 3+ years specifically in a people-management capacity.
OR 9+ years of equivalent professional experience in a high-growth SaaS environment.
Leadership Breadth: Proven experience managing front-line managers (managing a "manager of managers" structure) or leading large teams (15+) of individual contributors.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Lead-to-Opportunity lifecycle within the Enterprise software space, specifically targeting the Office of the CFO (Financials) or the Office of the CHRO (HR/Payroll).
Talent Developer: A documented history of being a "Talent Magnet"—recruiting, hiring, and successfully promoting SDRs into Account Executive or Leadership roles within 12–18 months.
Data Literacy: Advanced proficiency in Salesforce.com (SFDC) reporting and dashboards. You should be comfortable using data to tell a story, identifying "bottlenecks" in the funnel, and course-correcting team behavior based on conversion metrics.
Operational Tooling: Experience implementing or optimizing a modern sales stack, including tools like Outreach/Salesloft, Clari, Qualified/6sense, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Strategic Alignment: Demonstrated ability to partner with Regional Sales Directors and Field Marketing to create "Account-Based" plays for Tier-1 enterprise accounts.
Communication: Exceptional executive presence. You can present pipeline health and conversion trends to VP-level stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
The "Workday Way": A leadership style that aligns with our core values—specifically Integrity and Employee Contribution. You lead by serving your team and fostering a culture of belonging.
Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email [email protected].
Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
At Workday, we value our candidates’ privacy and data security. Workday will never ask candidates to apply to jobs through websites that are not Workday Careers.
Please be aware of sites that may ask for you to input your data in connection with a job posting that appears to be from Workday but is not.
In addition, Workday will never ask candidates to pay a recruiting fee, or pay for consulting or coaching services, in order to apply for a job at Workday.
