- Define and deploy the quality vision, policy, and annual quality objectives aligned to business and customer goals
- Lead the quality organization (QA, QC, SQA, warranty, systems) and develop a strong problem-solving, data-driven culture
- Establish, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System compliant with IATF 16949, ISO systems and customer-specific requirements
- Ensure successful internal and external audits (customer & certification) and close nonconformities with robust CAPA
- Oversee APQP activities (DFMEA/ PFMEA review, control plans, MSA, SPC, capability studies) for new parts and engineering changes
- Approve PPAP/submission packages to OEMs, ensuring dimensional, material, performance, and process validation are completed and documented.
- Monitor in-process quality performance (rejection, rework, PPM, line incidents) and ensure effective controls at each stage of manufacturing
- Lead structured problem solving (8D, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions) for internal rejections, field failures, and OEM/customer complaints
- Customer interface - Act as the primary quality interface with OEMs for audits, complaints, approvals, and scorecards.
- Drive warranty reduction and field performance improvement through analysis of returns, trend monitoring, and cross-functional action plans
- Supplier quality management - Oversee supplier quality performance for incoming materials (PPAP approval, audits, incoming PPM, line issues) and drive supplier development
- Collaborate with sourcing and engineering to qualify new suppliers and improve existing ones using audits, capability improvement, and joint problem solving
- Define and track key quality KPIs such as internal PPM, customer PPM, customer complaints, warranty cost, COPQ, audit scores, and related quality issues
- Lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, standardization) to reduce defects, variation, and cost of poor quality
- People development and culture - Build and mentor a high-performing quality team, including training on IATF, core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), problem solving, and customer-specific systems
