Purpose Statement: The Sr Mgr - Quality supports the strategic planning, development, execution and compliance of Plexus’ corporate Quality Management System (QMS) to all applicable quality regulations and standards. To differentiate Plexus from the competition, the Mgr - Quality supports and helps creates a culture of quality and helps builds customer confidence by leading Plexus’ quality, supplier and regulatory teams (as applicable) and collaborating across the enterprise in order to ensure Plexus delivers defect free designs and products.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Quality Performance: Leads monitoring and maintenance of site Quality Metrics in order to identify and deploy best practices and drive continuous improvement. In addition, help develop and upgrade Quality site talent to ensure success.
  • Quality Management Representative: Leads overall Quality function as QMS Management Representative for the site, inclusive of; Quality Engineering, Regulatory Compliance (as applicable to the QMS), and Supplier Quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the use of problem solving tools and methodologies consistent with the lean sigma Plexus culture. Accountable to drive and lead the CAPA performance and execution within the region. Lead the operational quality assurance, supplier quality and QMS/regulatory teams to establish a quality roadmap for the continual improvement of manufacturing operations and supply base to improve quality, cost and delivery of customer products.
  • Audits: Manage external/internal site audit processes and associated improvement cycle.
  • Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 - 10+ years of experience in the related field, or a Master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in the related field. Previous experience in a management role is required.
  • A combination of education, experience, and time in field will be taken into consideration, and internal candidates may have distinct requirements tailored to their demonstrated skills and contributions within the organization.

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact, influence and build consensus with internal and external teams.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to represent Plexus Corp. in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, especially executive management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Professional office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and other office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing the importance of good posture and ergonomic workplace arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Setting agreed clear requirement with customer through quality plan
  • Define incoming inspection and procedure
  • Driving zero defects for key indicators
  • Conduct MRB meeting for IQA findings
  • Ensures compliance of customer requirements, industry standard and safety at work place
  • Primary interface with customers on quality related matter
  • Lead activities to improve yield at customer incoming and reduce RMAs
  • Participate and support regulatory and customer audits at site
  • Drive Proactive Continuous Improvement on Yield & Quality Metrics
  • Ensure effectiveness of pFMEA & CAPA
  • Drive SQE and suppliers on incoming material's quality
  • Conduct 5S audit
  • Driving the cross-functional team to deliver continual improvement activities for internal processes deliverables
  • Build and Embed Quality Awareness in Operations
  • Ensure effectiveness of training and inspections
  • Educate operators and production associations on quality/compliance and procedure
  • Provide Coaching & Supervision to QA engineers
  • Provide Technical Guidance & Communications to Engineers/Technicians
  • Guide engineers to respond effectively to customers' feedbacks/CAPA, follow up with quality metrics set in quality plan
  • Prepare Quarterly Operations Review
  • To identify and hire right talent, develop high performance and motivated/engaged team with right competencies and capabilities
  • Perform Effective Supplier Audit
  • Define audits and surveys to ensure that all suppliers are meeting our business requirements to include flow down and quality standards
  • Ability to execute supplier audit activities related to both validation and on-going management of quality execution capabilities.
  • Supplier Performance Management and Development
  • Monitoring, report and support of supplier quality metrics and performance. Responsible for supporting supplier corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
  • Complement Site Operations in Supplier-related Activities
  • Support sites on incoming inspection, problem part resolution through all phases of operations
  • Facilitate reporting and notifying suppliers of cost-recovery requirements resulting from the need to contain, segregate or handle non-conforming parts
  • Support alternative supplier selection
  • Participates in customer-facing supplier quality activities
  • Any additional task assigned by management

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Applied Science with minimum 10 years’ working experience
  • Good working knowledge of electronic assemblies, components, quality monitoring and improvement technique
  • Experience in PCBA, box build in high mix low volume manufacturing
  • Preferably managers specializing in Quality Control/Assurance and Supplier Quality as well
  • Good discipline and attitude
  • People management skill and quality mindset
  • Industry background from Automation/Semiconductor/Aerospace/Medical are preferable
