Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Production to join our team. This role leads the Packaging organization for CSS KCM, overseeing primary and secondary packaging activities for clinical trials and commercial products. You will manage processes, systems, and people to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures. This position also provides leadership focused on motivation, recognition, and employee development while supporting strategic business objectives.
Shift: M-F business hours
Location: Kansas City, MO
100% Onsite
The Role
Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource or operational challenges
Maintain a safe working environment and proactively identify safety concerns
Provide insight and guidance into event Root Cause Analysis and review/approve reports (discrepancies, deviations, complaints)
Ensure overall quality of output from the Production group, including executed batch records and packaged outputs
Oversee and assist with investigations related to Production and ensure CAPA identification and closure
Ensure on-time starts and delivery of production schedules
Execute daily plans as scheduled
Ensure completion of Daily Shift Notes and effective communication between shifts
Ensure resources are available for participation in Continuous Improvement activities such as Process Improvement Group projects and Kaizen Events
Provide active feedback to planning and scheduling for efficient production
Reinforce and set standards for rewarding and recognizing team members
Other duties as assigned
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience
3-5 years of management, supervisory, or team leadership experience
Able to manage employee performance deficiencies and correct them to meet expectations
Able to effectively manage and resolve challenges between employees and teams
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, staff, and other personnel
Ability to plan and independently implement multiple projects
Ability to work under tight and emergent deadlines
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation ability
Willingness to take a position and assert influence to drive improvement
Ability to foster teamwork to achieve consistent and effective results
This role also requires 20/30 Corrected Vision
Highly active containment area (Potent Drug Facility)
Respirator fit testing and pulmonary physical required
Handling of controlled substance product
A background check and further DEA screening is required
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
