Position Overview:

The Senior Supply Planning Manager is a strategic, people-focused leader responsible for building and maintaining short- and long-term supply plans that balance customer service, cost, capacity, and inventory objectives. This role partners closely with Demand Planning, Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to enable informed decision-making and consistent execution across the planning horizon. The position also plays a key role in Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE), the annual operating plan (AOP), and continuous improvement initiatives, while providing coaching and mentorship to planners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve rolling supply plans across assigned products, categories, plants, or manufacturing networks using demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.
  • Translate 12–18 month supply plans into actionable inputs for master production scheduling and near-term execution.
  • Lead complex scenario modeling and trade-off analyses to evaluate capacity limitations, demand variability, inventory risk, service impact, and cost implications.
  • Communicate supply risks, constraints, opportunities, and mitigation plans to cross-functional stakeholders through S&OE, planning reviews, and leadership forums.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, Sales, Operations, Scheduling, and other stakeholders to align assumptions, priorities, and execution plans.
  • Analyze historical performance data (e.g., plan adherence, service levels, utilization, and run rates) to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive performance against key metrics such as service level/OTIF, inventory turns, slow and obsolete inventory, and working capital objectives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for supply planning topics with internal partners and, as appropriate, external or customer-facing teams.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement efforts related to planning processes, tools, data quality, and ways of working.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop planning team members, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 – 8+ years of progressive experience in supply planning, production planning, or a related discipline within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing complex supply plans across multiple products, assets, or constraints.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP are preferred but not required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities with a practical approach to root cause analysis.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and levels without formal authority.
  • Clear, inclusive, and concise communication skills, including the ability to present insights and recommendations to leaders.
  • Proficiency with planning systems and tools (ERP/MRP required; Microsoft Dynamics 365, advanced Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI are a plus).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a commitment to coaching, feedback, and talent development.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and continuous improvement of mindset in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • This role is primarily office-based and typically involves extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and participating in meetings.

  • The primary work environment is a professional office setting, with occasional visits to manufacturing or warehouse facilities.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-8+ years progressive experience in supply planning, production planning, or related discipline within a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
