Position Summary
The Sr Manager (Product Leader) provides strategic leadership and manages a team responsible for product development with the Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness portfolio by defining product roadmaps, prioritizing feature development, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring successful product launches. Oversees the entire product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and iteration. Work across the organization to align product strategies with business goals, manage resources, and facilitate effective collaboration between product teams and other departments to drive product success and customer satisfaction.
This leader will drive and elevate the short-term and long-term product vision for their products as well as collaborate with other product leaders across the portfolio. They are responsible for team backlog development and prioritization, maintaining integrity of features or components, and collaborating closely with Engineering, Design, and other members of the team. They will also lead in the identification and socialization of team KPIs to achieve the defined OKRs. This individual shares accountability with the Engineering counterpart for the delivery of outcomes by the team.
Responsibilities
Product Vision, Strategy, and Roadmaps
- Defines and socializes the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with the team; assesses and refines as needed.
- Partners with product leadership, customer experience, and design to integrate the customer perspective into features and experiences.
- Effectively communicates the product vision to team members.
- Builds and aligns roadmaps for their features or suite of features and provides recommendations to leadership on scope based on priorities and overall product vision.
- Defines team OKRs and develops feature-level measurement plans to evaluate progress towards outcomes, aligned with business objectives.
Team Backlog Ownership, User Story Development, and Prioritization
- Builds, prioritizes, monitors, edits, and maintains the flow and quality of the Team Backlog to provide teams with clear intent and ensure the delivery of business value, product health, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensures that all backlog items, plus dependencies, are entered and maintained in the work management tool.
- Provides input for testing through well-written user stories with thorough acceptance criteria. Through leading refinement sessions, they provide detailed feedback on completed user stories to ensure quality has been achieved by validating that the story meets the acceptance criteria.
- Supports testing, deployment, release, and post-release activities. They will work directly with engineering and others to optimize the working team model and ensure alignments across higher-level epics or requirements.
- Sets high-level direction for a planning increment, manages dependencies, and provides transparency to execute upon planning and prioritized features.
- Ensures that incremental learnings from product delivery are prioritized in the backlog.
Trend Monitoring and Product Performance
- Uses performance data to identify issues quickly, and develop new insights and hypothesis about product health (key metrics include core Product Metrics (i.e., Visits, Success Rates, etc.), Technical Health (i.e., Site Speed, Crash Rate, API Performance, etc.), Customer Feedback (i.e., App Rating, Quantum Metric, Medallia, etc.) and/or other appropriate metrics.
- Tracks team KPIs that contribute to product OKRs, socializes progress and consistently reinforces objectives.
Product Value, Cross-Functional Teaming, and Stakeholder Management
- As a part of the cross-functional team, collaborates closely with engineering, design, architecture, operations and other team members using agile practices.
- Leads the team to produce the product or experience demo and presents to stakeholders.
- Serves as the point of contact for feature delivery and works directly with Domain Owners when necessary to ensure broader alignment with the Epic.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years required experience as a product management, product ownership, or a related role within an IT or software development environment.
- 7+ years required experience in software product management, with demonstrated success in building large-scale consumer-facing products.
- 5+ years of experience working in Agile environments, particularly with Scrum or Kanban methodologies – familiarity with Agile practices and ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- 5+ years of proven experience in product leadership/management roles with demonstrated ability to drive collaboration, engage, influence, and inspire cross functional teams.
- 3+ years of experience as a team leader, coach, or mentor.
- Must be able to support east coast working hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with product management tools such as Jira, Rally, or similar tools
- Familiarity with product frameworks; SAFe certification
- Have a strong desire to see others succeed via coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change in priorities and/or direction.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical and people skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
