I. Job Summary
Provides strategic leadership over customer payment behavior, channels, and methods to guide payment strategy in a rapidly evolving payments environment. Leads initiatives to optimize payment acceptance, expand digital adoption, enhance customer experience, and manage cost, risk, and reliability across all payment options.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Monitors payment market trends, emerging payment technologies and regulatory and economic shifts in payments landscape
  • Partners cross-functionally with Digital, Finance, Customer Team, Legal and 3rd party partners to adapt payment strategies, improve payment success rates, and ensure secure, compliant and efficient payment operations that support both customer needs and organizational financial objectives
  • Establish and track key performance indicators that improve speed and accuracy of decision making around customer payments
  • Develop and execute enterprise payment strategies aligned with customer behavior, cost efficiency, and revenue assurance goals
  • Oversee performance of all payment channels and methods, including digital, payment, bank, in-person and 3rd party platforms
  • Lead initiatives to expand and optimize digital and self-service payment options while reducing friction and failure points
  • Manage payment risk, fraud prevention, and controls to protect the customer and the organization
  • Govern payment policies, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to ensure scalability, resilience, and cost-effective payment processing
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, data analytics, and process redesign to enhance payment accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Advise and assist in the the Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance filing annually in partnership with Digital, Finance and 3rd party partners
  • Assist leaders of Credit, Collections and Cash Applications in strategic initiatives around payments and process automation, analytics and optimization

III. Qualifications 
A. Required Qualifications 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience
  • 7 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement)

B. Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study
