Job Purpose:
O&M Engineer – will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant uptime, efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards for Enerparc India’s rooftop and ground mount projects. The role includes managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing solar PV plant performance. The position demands strong analytical/coordination skills, electrical engineering fundamentals, and an understanding of the Solar PV operations. Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Analysis & Support
- Monitor allocated projects using SCADA, data monitoring platforms, and diagnostic tools, with an understanding of electrical safety standards and grid regulations.
- Oversee the daily operations of solar PV plants, including rooftop and utility-scale projects, as per the schedule.
- Identify and resolve performance issues to maximize plant generation.
2. Analytical
- Maintain breakdown sheets, customer complaint registers, and module cleaning sheets for data analytics.
- Coordinate with the analytics team to track KPIs such as PR, Plant Availability, and Generation Guarantee.
3. Documentation
- Maintain all vendor records, handle vendor queries, and coordinate invoice submissions.
- Follow up with customers for payment collection.
- Conduct O&M audits before project handover and share punch points.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and performance logs.
- Supervise technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
4. Process Improvements
- Update customer complaint registers daily and track closure against the target dates.
- Ensure IMS adherence across projects.
- Create and maintain weekly trackers for failures related to inverters, sensors, modules, and other equipment.
- Manage spares and maintain inventory records.
- Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical systems and plan corrective actions in advance.
- Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for technical support and warranty claims, including advance planning for equipment extended warranties.
5. Plant Performance Improvement
- Identify low-performing sites and drive improvements through detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensure timely replacements, and conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment.
- Plan preventive and corrective maintenance of solar modules, inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
Requirements
Qualification & Skills:
Education:
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Renewable Energy.
Experience:
- 10-12 years of experience in Solar PV, preferably in O&M.
Technical Competencies:
- Technical coordination and report writing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to resolve site-related technical issues within defined targets.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in an operations environment.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced operational environment.
Communication Skills:
- Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
Skills Required
- B.E., B.Tech, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Renewable Energy
- 6-8 years of experience in solar PV; O&M experience preferred
- Knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
- Technical coordination and report-writing skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi
- Ability to resolve site-related technical issues within defined targets
