The Role

As a Senior Manager at NewDay, you’ll lead a high profile embedded finance partnership with a major UK banking client, acting as a primary point of contact and owning the performance of a market differentiating programme where NewDay operates as a second lender to maximise customer acceptance. You’ll oversee end to end credit partnership performance, including credit assessment and underwriting across the full risk spectrum for customers declined by the primary lender, while also managing a broader portfolio of branded embedded finance and card partnerships with leading retailers.

How You'll Contribute

  • Shape and deliver the growth strategy for the newpay product alongside our bank partner, accelerating merchant acquisition to hit NewDay’s new customer and repeat-usage ambitions.

  • Build and influence a powerful network across the bank partner, driving clear ownership and accountability for ambitious merchant growth targets.

  • Own the product success story, leading the internal assessment of enhancements needed to win in market, and partnering with NewDay product teams to define and deliver a compelling roadmap.

  • Design smart, commercial acquisition strategies with our commercial teams, helping merchants attract new customers while improving unit economics across the portfolio.

  • Be the face of Embedded Finance where it counts, developing direct relationships with key merchants and/or working closely with relationship managers to onboard and grow high-potential partners.

We’re looking for these essential skills

  • Deep experience in digital payments and financial services, with a strong grasp of the competitive landscape to spot risks early and unlock growth opportunities.

  • Commercially sharp with P&L ownership, combining strong analytical skills with a clear understanding of credit programme drivers to size, prioritise and deliver growth initiatives.

  • Highly organised and comfortable in pacey environments, able to juggle multiple priorities while confidently managing senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • A persuasive communicator and negotiator, able to influence, align and drive outcomes at all levels.

Its a plus if you also have these skills 

  • Spearhead initiatives securing buy in of the partners/merchants and gain support from across the business.

  • manage the account governance and ensure a culture of risk and control is maintained.
