Primary Purpose:
The Platform Manager for Data Center and Cloud Networks will provide expertise and leadership for the Datacenter network, Carrier Neutral Facilities and cloud network connectivity function of the Network Services team. This role will work closely with the Director of Network Infrastructure to define the strategy, create an actionable roadmap, and execute the implementation in conjunction with partners inside and outside ADUSA using next generation software defined networking principles. The role will oversee the planning, design, and execution for reliable connectivity to ADUSA data centers, private and public cloud access platforms leveraging fully integrated software defined networking solution. The role will bring a broad experience of modern IT landscapes to align technical direction and the needs of the business, working directly with application stakeholders to provide a superior end-user experience consisting of higher availability, better performance, and improved agility.
The role will build solutions that clearly measure the value of Network Services provides to the application delivery, providing KPIs pertaining to availability, utilization, latency, and service-level agreements to the business. Work closely with information security and risk teams to ensure the datacenter network and cloud on-ramp solutions align with security best-practices.
Manage a team of subject matter experts in network architecture and solution engineering with Cisco and Palo Alto solutions, including WAN, LAN, VoIP, wireless, security, and cloud, partnering in ensuring delivery of best practices that contribute to superior business outcomes. Oversee and the delivery of large-scale strategic initiatives, such as data center network standardization, automation/orchestration, SDWAN integration, load balancing and DDI (Infoblox) harmonization, and network tools implementation to advance the company's overall network architecture and provide stability and brining operational efficiencies that will help improve business outcomes.
Partner with team of sr. managers, architects, platform/solution engineers that are responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise-class, next-generation systems, including the creation of maintenance and release strategies, that align with ADUSA's Cloud Right approach and aligning to architecture strategies from the Offices of the CTO and ISO.
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the end-to-end health and operation of the data center networks.
  • Drive scaling current network designs to meet the demand of our customers.
  • Create processes and documentation that help operate and build our network.
  • Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands.
  • Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to working operations.
  • Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network adheres these standards.
  • Review and implement changes on the network through automation and orchestration solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence projects to make improvements in our network quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network.
  • Work with a wide range of complex technologies including optical engineering. Strong customer service focus, coupled with a proven ability to positively interact with customers of all levels within the organization

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related Field
  • Proven work experience with supervising a team of senior platform engineers supporting mission critical networks
  • Advanced understanding of current data center platforms and technologies, principles, and protocols
  • Experience with planning, building, and maintaining a critical datacenter and cloud network architecture (WAN, LAN, VoIP, Collaboration, Security, and Wireless) in a large-scale heterogeneous technology environment
  • Experience with complex routing and switching topologies in a Cisco environment, including ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus (NX-OS) equipment, using features such as OTV, OSPF, BGP, and similar
  • Experience with next-generation software defined architectures (SDN/SD-WAN)
  • Experience with next-generation security devices such as Palo Alto, as well as traditional firewalls from Cisco (ASA) and Checkpoint
  • Experience with WAN acceleration technologies, such as Riverbed Steelhead
  • Experience with network management and monitoring tools such as Cisco DNA, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, NetBrain, LiveNX, Gigamon, Splunk, and Panorama
  • Experience managing business and technology risk mitigation methodology.
  • Experience designing and implementing network architectures with long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans that are aligned with organizational goals and objectives
  • Develop detailed plans to accommodate network growth, security, and enhancements by maximizing functionality of network equipment. Ensure secure network architecture designs by adhering to information security standards. Provide technical leadership and direction to business leaders throughout the enterprise
  • Proven ability to build and lead a team with both architecture and operational responsibilities, ensuring both project commitments and operational SLAs are being met, day-to-day priorities are managed, and expectations are clearly set with network services internal customers and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop infrastructure lifecycle management strategies to manage performance, capacity, availability, reliability and new service introduction of network infrastructure services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical mastery across all aspects of the infrastructure portfolio listed
  • Proven ability to partner with infrastructure, security, application, and business leaders to provide technology solutions that respond to rapid changes in the business and ensure exceptional end-user experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of direct experience working in large scale networks
  • Network engineer certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE
  • Experience working in an agile (SAFe) environment
