Your Team:
The Corporate Affairs team sits in the Finance division of the ASX and supports the entire organisation with strategic stakeholder engagement. The focus of the team is to enhance the reputation of the ASX and facilitate desired business
outcomes through effective stakeholder engagement. The function has direct accountability for internal and external communications, PR, government relations and industry engagement. It works very closely and supports Investor Relations, Regulatory Affairs, Customer and Brand & Marketing.
Your responsibilities:
Develop and execute key integrated media and communications initiatives that supports ASX’s strategic priorities and corporate narrative
Provide strategic communications advice to senior managers and executive leadership team on issues management, media enquiries, market positioning and reputational risk
Develop and support key corporate calendar events and messaging particularly in relation to delivery of financial results investor strategy day, annual report and shareholder meetings. This includes supporting the development of scripts/talking points, Q&A, briefing notes etc
Partner closely with investor relations, legal, and company secretariat to ensure all public communications meet continuous disclosure obligations and are consistent with listing rules
Play a key role in incident and crisis management including developing and executing rapid response communications for operational incidents, regulatory actions, technology outages or similar events
Support executives and subject matter experts with media engagement – both for inbound and outbound activity
Your experience and qualifications:
Must have:
Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, digital media, marketing, business, economics, law or similar/related discipline.
At least 8 years’ experience in communications or corporate affairs role in a complex, issues-rich environment managing external communications
Experience working in communications in an ASX-listed company
Experience liaising with senior executive within a corporate setting
Excellent communications and presentation skills both written and verbal
Detailed understanding of Australian media landscape
Experience managing incident and crisis communications
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders across enterprise
Experience in financial services in Australia
Understanding of regulatory landscape including some knowledge of ASIC and RBA
