Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Logistics is a key leadership position that oversees and continually seeks ways to improve performance in operations, specifically including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and global distribution networks.

  • Leads development and implementation of freight procurement events and ensures execution using logistics management best practices.
  • Develop vendor onboarding, performance management, and compliance programs and monitor/audit to ensure continued alignment with business objectives.
  • Leader will drive positive change by developing new and enhanced processes, metrics and KPI’s, reporting key findings to senior leadership, and leading project implementation from concept to realization.
  • Responsible for initiating, leading, and successful realization of cost saving and performance improvement projects, including (for example) logistics network optimization, DC utilization, carrier contract and mode effectiveness, and vendor performance improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods to provide the necessary levels of service to both internal and external customers.
  • Create and implement logistics vendor performance management processes and KPIs.
  • Lead continuous improvement to drive performance improvement that differentiates LNW Gaming to customers in terms of cost and service.
  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques to identify and implement complex logistics network and procurement improvement projects.

Qualifications

Additional Responsibilities:

  • This role requires partnering with leadership across the organization and identifying opportunities for improvements in cost and service levels.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement short/long term global logistics strategies to support the growth of the organization in a cost-effective manner while improving service and reliability.
  • Research and implement new tools to advance supply chain digitalization and aid in resolving complex and routine process issues while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure maximum customer service, order fill rate, on-time shipment, on-time delivery, order accuracy, and optimal performance, balanced with cost and resilience.
  • Define and manage key internal and client-facing metrics and KPIs; define strategies for continuous improvement (e.g. cost, on-time delivery, quality, and service levels).
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of the gaming business to better optimize logistics activities in a strategic and meaningful way.
  • Oversee multi-facility warehouse assets, multiple vendors across modes, distributed operations sites, and capital projects in compliance with company’s policies and vision, including receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Centralize and optimize global routing guides to improve performance and transparency related to global logistics activities.
  • Develop and implement best practices for inbound freight to minimize cost and material availability.
  • Initiate and conduct comprehensive RFQs across transportation modes (LTL, TL, parcel, air, ocean, forwarding, brokerage).
  • Contribute thought leadership and functional expertise to IT-related and systems development projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eight years of experience in logistics management environment
  • At least two years of experience managing freight vendors, including truckload and LTL carriers
  • Demonstrated experience initiating and managing freight bid events (RFQs) in one or more of the following modes: truckload, less-than-truckload, small parcel, air freight, expedited freight
  • Minimum one year of experience managing complex projects with track record of delivery on time and within budget
  • Advanced analytical abilities including Excel, PowerBI

Preferred Traits, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required along with relevant technical experience in supply chain design, logistics and freight procurement, problem solving and project management
  • Demonstrate leadership in building a culture of Continuous Improvement for processes and operations management,  
  • Experience with demonstrated successes across complex multidivisional operations (Lean or Six Sigma experience highly valued) including process mapping and process re-design
  • Proven ability to deliver results cross-functionally with exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to build a team, lead, motivate, drive performance and accountability
  • Able to hit the ground running – a confident, self-starter with the ability to organize, plan, manage and prioritize projects
  • High analytical ability and drive to gather and interpret data beyond surface level to further develop, recommend, and implement solutions
  • Proven track record for anticipating issues and having implemented processes/standards to address items before they occur and ability to adjust on the move
  • High level expertise/experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word), data visualization tools/dashboard development (PowerBI)
  • Demonstrates leadership by being able to translate company’s vision, core values, integrity and accountability into executable projects that add value
  • Experience playing a prominent role in designing, executing and managing a logistics network with multiple state operations
  • Operational experience with advanced ERP systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift from 5 to 50 pounds

Work Conditions: 

  • May require weekend and evening hours.
