The Impact You Will Make

  • Set the vision and roadmap for courier payments, offer pricing, and incentives. Define how base pay, market adjustments, and bonuses work together to support courier earnings, engagement, and delivery reliability.
  • Own the annual driver payments and incentives budget. Partner with Finance on planning, forecasts, spend pacing, variance explanations, and investment decisions; be accountable for results against plan.
  • Lead and develop the Courier Payments & Incentives team. Set priorities, coach analytical and operational talent, allocate resources, and build clear accountability for business outcomes.
  • Own engagement and incentive programs across activation, peak-demand participation, retention, and reactivation. Determine eligibility, offer structure, timing, and investment by market and courier segment.
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science to measure incremental impact through controlled experiments and sound causal methods. Separate additional supply and deliveries from activity that would have happened without an incentive, and define when to scale, adjust, or stop a program.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to improve pay calculation, offer pricing and bidding logic, incentive delivery, and payment accuracy. Translate operating needs into requirements and follow changes through launch and measurement.
  • Apply AI and predictive models to supply forecasting, incentive targeting, budget scenarios, and anomaly detection. Build repeatable decision tools with Analytics and Data Science, validate recommendations against observed results, and retain clear ownership of pay and spend decisions.
  • Manage pay and incentives as network levers. Evaluate their effects on offer acceptance, courier availability and utilization, fulfillment, delivery speed, and cost per delivery across markets and dayparts.
  • Build a shared operating cadence with Finance and Analytics covering spend, forecast accuracy, courier earnings, incremental incentive returns, retention, service outcomes, and payment issues. Present clear recommendations and trade-offs to Logistics leadership.
  • Use courier feedback and competitive research to improve pay transparency and program design. Partner with Legal, Finance, and Operations on market requirements, payment controls, and reliable execution for an independent-contractor network.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in analytics, economics, finance, operations, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in marketplace operations, analytics, pricing, payments, incentive strategy, or a related field, with ownership of measurable financial and operating outcomes.
  • 3–5 years of people management or team leadership experience, including coaching analytical talent, setting priorities, and developing a team.
  • Analytical and technical capabilities:
    • Hands-on SQL and advanced Excel or comparable financial modeling skills; able to interrogate data, build scenarios, and challenge assumptions directly.
    • Experience designing experiments, evaluating incentive effectiveness, and distinguishing correlation from incremental impact.
    • Practical experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve decisions, with the judgment to validate outputs. Python or R, forecasting, optimization, and Tableau or comparable visualization tools are a plus.
  • A strong foundation in analytics, marketplace pricing, courier or contractor payments, or algorithmic offer pricing and bidding. Experience with dynamic pricing, auctions, or bid optimization is particularly relevant.
  • Experience with independent-contractor, gig-economy, delivery, transportation, or other distributed service networks; understanding of how earnings, incentives, supply, and demand interact.
  • Demonstrated budget ownership and partnership with Finance and Analytics, including forecasting, unit economics, investment allocation, and executive communication.
  • Ability to turn complex analysis into an operating strategy and deliver through Product, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and Operations. You can explain trade-offs clearly and move work from idea to execution.
  • Strong business judgment and attention to detail, with a track record of improving cost and service outcomes while building a reliable, competitive earning experience for couriers.
