We are seeking a strategic and highly organized PMO Lead to oversee project governance, standards, portfolio management, and delivery excellence across our IT organization. The PMO Lead will define and enforce frameworks, provide visibility into portfolio health, and enable consistent, high-quality execution of IT and retail technology initiatives.
This role requires strong leadership, analytical capability, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. The PMO Lead will build project management maturity, mentor project managers, and ensure alignment between IT delivery and retail business strategy.
- Define, maintain, and enforce project and program management methodologies, templates, and best practices.
- Drive consistent execution across all IT projects related to retail operations, stores, e-commerce, supply chain, merchandising, finance, and analytics.
- Establish governance cadence, including steering committees, portfolio reviews, and executive reporting.
- Manage the overall IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Provide visibility into portfolio health, risks, issues, dependencies, financials, and resource allocation.
- Support prioritization and decision-making with senior leadership.
- Monitor projects for adherence to scope, budget, timeline, quality, and governance standards.
- Provide escalation management and support for complex or at-risk projects.
- Drive continuous improvements in delivery processes.
- Lead and mentor project managers and program managers across the organization.
- Build PMO maturity through coaching, training, and process optimization.
- Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and structured delivery.
- Partner closely with executive leadership, business functions, and IT teams.
- Prepare accurate, concise, and executive-ready reports and dashboards.
- Guide leadership through portfolio risks, priorities, and strategic trade-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Operations, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT project/program management, including PMO leadership.
- Strong understanding of retail business models, operational cycles, and technology ecosystems.
- Demonstrated success implementing governance frameworks and portfolio management.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage C-level executives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with portfolio/project tools (Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, Power BI).
- PMP, PgMP, PMO, SAFe, or Lean certifications.
- Experience in large-scale digital transformation or omnichannel retail modernization.
- Experience managing a PMO function across multiple regions or business units.
