  • Identify, quantify, and communicate key financial risks and deal sensitivities; establish and implement an impairment and monitoring framework, including trigger identification and supporting analysis

  • Develop clear, decision-ready materials for partners (e.g., investment committee-style summaries, red-flag memos, and post-close monitoring updates) and influence outcomes through concise executive communication

  • Own accounting for venture investments, including application of ASC 321 (measurement alternative and fair value considerations) and ASC 323 (equity method indicators), documentation of conclusions, and coordination with internal/external reviewers

  • Design, implement, and operate SOX-compliant controls over investment accounting processes, including data intake, review/approval workflows, valuation inputs, impairment assessments, and reporting support

  • Prepare and present periodic portfolio reporting (e.g., quarterly close support, auditor-ready analysis, and internal dashboards) and continuously improve data quality and tooling (IHS or similar portfolio/reporting systems)

What We Need To See:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience); Active CPA required

  • 10+ years of total experience with 7+ years of experience in venture capital accounting, transaction/financial diligence, corporate venture, audit/assurance with investment focus, and/or related roles

  • 2+ years of leadership experience

  • Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous environments (people management experience a plus; strong cross-functional influencing skills required)

  • Advanced analytical skills, including strong Excel-based modeling and the ability to synthesize complex financials into streamlined insights and recommendations

  • Excellent executive communication skills (writing and presenting), with the ability to drive alignment across senior partners

  • Strong technical accounting foundation for venture investments, including ASC 321 (measurement alternative) and ASC 323 (equity method indicators), and comfort supporting valuation/impairment analyses and related documentation

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

  • Familiarity with portfolio reporting systems (IHS or similar) and Level 3 valuation methodologies, including backsolve/option-pricing models and calibration of assumptions

  • Experience in corporate venture capital and complex deal/capital structures (preferred equity terms, SAFEs/convertible notes), including partnering with external valuation specialists and auditors

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at deal speed—highly responsive to investment teams and able to drive execution so diligence and review timelines are consistently met
