Vast is looking for a Senior Manager, Integration, reporting to the Senior Director, Integration, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Strong Engineering Leader for Haven-1. Responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with leadership, manufacturing, & multiple engineering groups to ensure on-track and on time delivery of parts and subassemblies into vehicle integration.
- Drive the Engineering side of the team along with the testing and execution leaders.
- Execute the mechanical build plan and adapt as new challenges are found.
- Lead efforts in fast-paced environment to efficiently identify, translate, and execute business objectives into technical strategies for the Integration Organization.
- Maintain schedule accuracy and sequence of integration.
- Drive excellence in engineering plans produced by the team.
- Flex resources to unblock critical path deliveries.
- Maintain and evolve team processes to grow efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering discipline.
- 8+ Years of hands-on integration / build engineering experience in an aerospace environment.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role with direct people management responsibilities, overseeing projects and teams.
- Direct experience working cross functionally with engineering to ensure on-time delivery of subsystems into Integration & Test.
- Experience working directly with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams on space hardware.
- Experience in leading a team to meet schedule.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Master of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing or equivalent.
- Experience working in new-space manufacturing environment.
- Experience working directly with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams on space hardware.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
- Experience creating and maintaining Test and Integration plans and schedule.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
