Vast is looking for a Senior Manager, Integration, reporting to the Senior Director of Integration, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach, CA location.
Responsibilities:
- Main integration program manager for Haven-1. Responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with leadership, manufacturing, & multiple engineering groups to ensure on-track and on time delivery of parts and subassemblies into vehicle integration
- Lead the test campaign for Haven-1, taking it through system testing, dynamics, EMI/EMC, and thermal vacuum testing
- Lead efforts in fast-paced environment to efficiently identify, translate, and execute business objectives into technical strategies for the Integration Organization
- Maintain and drive schedule, while managing risks and opportunities that arise
- Flex resources to unblock critical path deliveries
- Ensuring a smooth transition from engineering design to prototype vehicle build
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 8+ Years of hands-on integration / build engineering experience in an aerospace environment
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role with direct people management responsibilities, overseeing projects and teams
- Direct experience working cross functionally with engineering to ensure on-time delivery of subsystems into Integration & Test
- Experience in leading a team to successfully meet identified schedules, milestones, & deadlines
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Master of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing or equivalent
- Experience working in new-space manufacturing environment
- Experience working directly with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams on space hardware
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
- Experience creating and maintaining Test and Integration plans and schedules
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Pay Range:
- Senior Manager, Engineering: $160,000-$200,000
