Job Description

Western Digital is seeking a seasoned Government Affairs & Policy Sr. Manager (position can be referred to as Director in order to obtain necessary access)  to lead its public policy engagement and regulatory strategy in Thailand and advise the company on significant political, policy, and regulatory development to identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact business operations and strategic priorities. This role will be instrumental in shaping the company’s relationship with government stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to support business growth and innovation in the region, Western Digital’s strategic interests in Thailand and strong public-private partnerships. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Western Digital’s government relations and policy advocacy efforts in Thailand.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting the technology and manufacturing sectors.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key government agencies, policymakers, and industry groups.
  • Develop advocacy initiatives related to investment, innovation, digital economy, trade facilitation, sustainability and workforce development, patent registration and intellectual property support.
  • Represent Western Digital in stakeholder engagements, public forums, industry associations, and policy dialogues.
  • Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders on regulatory risks and opportunities. Coordinate with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, operations, R&D, public relations) and external resources to align policy initiatives with business objectives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Public Administration, or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
  • Advanced experience in government affairs, policy advocacy, or regulatory strategy in Thailand, with demonstrated experience working with key government stakeholders including the Board of Investment (BOI), Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Energy.

PREFERRED:

  • Deep knowledge of Thailand’s regulatory environment and political institutions.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing government relationships.

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Thai.
