Job description:
As the Senior Manager, Global Indirect Tax, you will directly oversee all aspects of PerkinElmer’s indirect tax function supported by both internal Tax personnel as well as the company’s partnership with a well-regarded Big 4 accounting firm. This role will expose the right candidate to a diverse set of responsibilities along with high visibility to upper management. This role will report directly to the Vice President, Global Tax.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly manage the company’s global indirect tax compliance with a focus on non-U.S. jurisdictions, specifically VAT
Lead responses to all tax authority notices and/or examinations
Drive efficiencies in the processes related to global indirect taxes
Work with the EMEA share service center to ensure accurate and seamless data flows
Directly manage a Sr. Tax Accountant based in company’s EMEA shared service center
Lead e-invoicing implementation project and manage ongoing process.
Liaise with external service providers for compliance out-sourcing
Ensure proper tracking and visibility for all indirect tax workstreams globally utilizing the company’s workstream management solution
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with cross-functional business partners across Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Legal, and IT.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, or similar business degree.
8+ years of indirect tax experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm, multinational enterprise or combination of both.
Strong technical understanding of value added tax.
Experience in managing shared service center personnel.
Strong performer with the ability to be a hands-on problem solver with robust analytical skills.
Proficient in SAP/Hyperion and Excel
Innovative mindset with ability to identify areas of opportunity to ensure best-in-class policies and controls.
Preferred Characteristics
Advanced degree in taxation
Experience in working for a U.S. headquartered manufacturing company
Experience managing indirect taxes outside the EMEA region (e.g. U.S. sales tax, APac indirect taxes)
Experience in ESG reporting and compliance
