Agoda’s Global Affairs Team works on key projects to advance the organization’s critical goals on legislative and policy work, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability in the field of travel tech. Our projects guarantee Agoda continues to play a positive role in leading the industry towards the future, where sustainable travel is the norm and where customers can travel more freely. Working with Government Affairs will offer the opportunity to network, learn, and gain valuable skills at the intersection of government affairs, sustainability, and technology. You will work on aligning Agoda’s strengths with government priorities to make real positive change around the world. Through these high-priority and innovative projects, you will impact the business and the communities we operate in on a global scale.
The Opportunity:
Agoda seeks a Senior Manager who will lead event planning, strategic initiatives, and business operations for Global Affairs. This role has dual-facing deliverables. Externally, this role will own and execute high-polish events and touchpoints that engage governments, with the goal of differentiating Agoda through exceptional experiences. Internally, this role will drive operational excellence for Global Affairs by building repeatable, scalable systems for government engagements and measuring its effectiveness.
In This Role, You'll Get To:
- Own the end-to-end strategy and execution of government engagement events. The scope includes high-level government or third-party events, high-profile government visits to Agoda offices, or Agoda-owned events, including roundtables, symposiums, summits.
- Design business systems and processes to ensure Global Affairs’ initiatives are repeatable, scalable, and high polish.
- Lead project management for strategic initiatives and relationships for Global Affairs.
- Oversee and administer team resource strategy, including vendor management, contracts and billing, liaising between Global Affairs and internal operations teams.
- Drive learning and development programs for Global Affairs, including onboarding programs, quarterly trainings, and strategy offsites.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 5-7 years of experience in government affairs, public affairs, public policy, or a related field, ideally within the technology, e-commerce, travel sectors, or governmental organizations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and data presentation skills, along with strong interpersonal communication. Proficiency in English is required; additional regional language skills are a plus.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing government affairs strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage and nurture both new and existing partnerships.
- Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to advance several projects simultaneously.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently and represent Agoda in government engagements, industry associations, or chambers of commerce.
- Ability to deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with company priorities.
- Experience in working with external consultants, leading thought leadership, and developing government partnership projects.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach that aligns with Agoda’s flat, open structures.
- A bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, international relations, law, policy communications, or international political economy is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
