Reporting Relationship and Scope of Position:

The Senior Manager reports to the AVP, Financial Reporting within the International Life Global Office Finance function, which is responsible for overseeing the integrity and quality of Life Segment US GAAP financial reporting. The Senior Manager is responsible for the review of monthly close journal entries and financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP. The scope of this position is execution-focused, encompassing the preparation and review of key accounting analyses, management of the close calendar to ensure all deadlines are met, direct support of internal and external audit requests, and execution of business initiatives and process enhancements. The role works in close collaboration with local accounting teams, Corporate Consolidation, Accounting Policy, and Actuarial to deliver high-quality reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly close calendar and coordinate with local accounting teams to ensure all reporting deliverables are completed with high quality and submitted within Corporate deadlines.
  • Review quarterly Internal Reporting Packages prepared by local teams, ensuring consistency and alignment with US GAAP and Corporate reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with internal standards and facilitating requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Support business initiatives by ensuring transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and by developing effective accounting and reporting processes.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by senior leadership; independently investigate identified issues and develop well-reasoned solutions for review.
  • Evaluate closing processes to identify enhancement opportunities and recommend practical solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial accounting and reporting experience within a public or private insurance organization, with demonstrated expertise in Life Insurance operations and US GAAP technical accounting.
  • Experience in international insurance operations and/or public accounting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization within a fast-paced, matrix organizational structure.
  • Flexibility to work with international teams across multiple time zones, particularly within the APAC region, and demonstrated ability to consistently meet tight deadlines during reporting periods.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and a high standard of work quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.

The pay range for the role is $100,000 to $140,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
