We seek an experienced and results-driven Experience Design Leader who inspires great work, nurtures talent, and can bring people together in the creation and evolution of best-in-class experiences that customers love. The role requires a strategic mindset, proven leadership experience, and a passion for promoting design thinking to drive alignment, innovation, and contribution to product strategy.
We are seeking a Senior User Experience Design Manager, Platform Data to join our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Design Data Platform team and advance our mission to reimagine the way customers capture, utilize, and exchange BIM data. In this role you’ll partner with teams for Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Autodesk Platform Services, Autodesk Construction Solutions, and Forma to introduce new data workflows for customers. You’ll lead a team focused on defining the experience of how AEC data is stored and exchanged between teams, companies, and applications and foster the creation of the data infrastructure on which Autodesk’s future AEC products will be built.
To ensure success, you will be expected to work collaboratively and independently, locally and globally. You understand how to facilitate the balance between tactical and strategic design priorities. You have solid negotiation and consensus building abilities needed to gain cross discipline leadership alignment. We are open to candidates based in the United States and Canada, Eastern Time Zone preferred.
Responsibilities
Define, champion, and execute a holistic vision and strategy for AEC/BIM data that powers Autodesk’s AEC portfolio, advocating for customer-centric and AI driven/Agentic experiences that cross hardware and platform boundaries
Develop strong partnerships with product management, engineering, and other design disciplines ensuring a frictionless development process and high-quality outcomes aligned to business strategy
Provide coaching, mentorship and career stewardship for a team of user experience design professionals including interaction design, design architecture, content (learning) experience, analytics, etc
Promote a culture of rapid iteration based on insights gleaned from customer research and data analytics to inform design decisions and continuous improvement
Develop high-performing teams on sizeable cross-functional and cross-organizational projects while managing stakeholders, risk, and uncertainty setting a high bar for design quality
Be a thought leader, staying informed of emerging technologies and trends, to ensure alignment across Autodesk to deliver a cohesive and industry leading customer experience
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of related professional design experience
4+ years of managing a design team with a variety of user experience disciplines
A passion for data, an understanding of the AEC industry technology, and a point of view on customer challenges related to AEC data management
Mastery of taking very complex ideas and conveying them in a concise and impactful manner to effectively communicate strategy and vision to both executive and customer stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead design teams in a fast-paced, matrixed, collaborative environment.
Anticipate the changing demands for UX skills and poses as strong technical understanding to nurture your team members and select the best people for our future success
