Group Summary:
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end design process for custom ground support equipment, from concept through production.
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), product documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Champion innovation and technology advancement, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.
- Manage CAD material databases and templates.
- Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) studies to validate design projects and prepare reports as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with project management and sales teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into design solutions.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly in the area of report writing are required
- Attention to detail is key
- Organization and project management.
- Knowledge of CAD software with 5+ years of design in tooling and automation
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
