About the Role:

As an Engineering Manager at Panorama, you will play a crucial role in guiding engineering teams to develop and deliver high-quality, impactful solutions that support K-12 educators. Reporting to a Director of Engineering, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team, contributing to the company’s mission by fostering a collaborative, client-focused, and innovative environment. This hands-on role involves supporting team members, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement to ensure we meet the evolving needs of educators and school systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and support to an engineering team, helping to shape technical strategy and prioritization to meet project goals and client needs. Participate in architectural and technical decisions, contributing hands-on when necessary
  • Team Development: Mentor, support, and develop engineers, promoting a culture of learning, accountability, and shared success. Help team members grow their technical and leadership skills, facilitating performance feedback and career growth
  • Client-Centric Development: Collaborate with Product and Client Experience teams to ensure engineering priorities are aligned with client needs, leveraging feedback from educators to drive development that delivers real-world impact
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Design, and Client Experience teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-quality products. Foster strong partnerships to ensure alignment and effective communication across teams
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the team’s development processes, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and continuous improvement in our delivery of reliable, scalable software
  • Problem Solving: Actively engage in problem-solving, identifying potential technical and operational issues early, and taking a proactive approach to resolve them while keeping client impact at the forefront

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 4+ years in a management role, ideally within a fast-paced SaaS or technology-driven environment
  • Experience in K-12 Education Technology or a strong interest in education technology. Understanding of the education landscape, especially the needs and challenges of K-12 educators, is highly valued
  • Proven Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams. Skilled in promoting a positive, growth-oriented environment where team members feel empowered to innovate and excel
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effective communicator with experience engaging cross-functional teams. Ability to translate technical details into actionable insights and collaborate closely with product, design, and client-facing teams
  • Client-Focused Mindset: Experience in incorporating client feedback into engineering decisions, demonstrating a commitment to building solutions that address real client needs
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in software development principles and best practices, with hands-on technical skills in relevant technologies
  • Operational Focus: Demonstrated ability to oversee and improve engineering processes, with a focus on delivering reliable, scalable solutions
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment, able to handle ambiguity, and quick to adapt to changing priorities

Salary: 

The starting salary range for this role is $194,900 - $216,590. Actual offers will depend on experience and skills.


The “Base Salary” range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position across all US locations. The determination of this anticipated Base Salary range involves the consideration of many factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: unique skill sets, experience, training, performance, licensure and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. Our anticipated Base Salary determination is just one component of Panorama’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes annual bonus or commission awards, equity awards, as well as other region-specific health and welfare benefits.
