JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW:
Automotive seating structures senior manager:
- Automotive seating structure product technical expert.
- Supervises & leads a group of 3-5 engineers.
- Leads technical problem solving.
- Supports manufacturing production issue resolution.
- Leads product safety technical risk assessment.
- Oversees & checks technical project execution.
- Communicates technical status and resolution plans internally & externally.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the team of product & resident engineers (Plymouth, Pune, manufacturing locations):
- Represents the structures engineering team.
- Facilitates communication in internal & customer reviews.
- Guides & reviews technical issue summary documentation.
- Leads critical issue containment & problem-solving activity.
- Escalates critical issues.
- Communicates directly with manufacturing locations, Adient structural analysis engineers, Adient product safety, Adient engineering leadership, Adient business units, and OEM customer engineers.
- Supervises the team:
- Facilitates team engagement.
- Provides performance feedback.
- Flexes and leverages available resources.
- Provides mentorship & development opportunities.
- Implements company & department initiatives.
- Responsible for the team’s technical work product:
- Guides issue containment & resolution.
- Guides issue prevention and deliverable completion.
- Identifies and documents lessons learned.
- Approves drawings.
- Approves engineering deliverables.
Collaborates
- Works with manufacturing to enable efficient mass production.
- Works with business unit engineering leaders to ensure team focus & collaboration.
- Engages organizational experts for specialized expertise.

- Product engineering integrity:
- Possesses strong engineering analysis skills and ability to apply to product engineering.
- Product manufacturing feasibility based on manufacturing knowledge of:
- Component manufacturing; Stamping, tube bending, wire forming
- Assembly processes; welding (laser, GMAW, projection), bolting, rivet forming, general assembly.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
BSME required
Must have 10+ years automotive seat structure development experience
