Senior Manager, Engineering - Foundational Platform & Data

As a Senior Manager of Engineering at QAD, you will be responsible for leading multiple agile teams and Engineering Managers, driving execution excellence while shaping technical solutions for enterprise‑scale platforms. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and technology.

Active use of AI-native development workflows — Cursor, Claude Code, and CodeRabbit or equivalent — is a baseline requirement, not a nice-to-have. We treat AI augmentation as the standard engineering operating model. Leaders are expected to use these tools personally, set norms for their teams, and demonstrate that AI tooling raises the output of their entire squad. Candidates who view AI tools as optional or experimental are not the right fit for this organization.

The Mission: What You'll Be Building

You will lead teams delivering key capabilities across QAD’s intelligent, adaptive platform, including cloud‑native services, APIs, and AI‑enabled workflows supporting global manufacturing customers.

Track Lead for the infrastructure spine, building the multi-tenant platform that powers the ERA ecosystem

• 12+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years leading platform or infrastructure teams

• Expert in multi-tenant API infrastructure: API Gateway, OAuth2/OIDC, rate limiting, and service mesh

• Deep Kafka expertise — partition design, consumer group management, schema evolution, and CDC patterns

• AWS (or equivalent) architecture depth has made infrastructure buy-vs-build decisions at scale

• MCP (Model Context Protocol) design or implementation familiarity

• OLAP pipeline design experience (ClickHouse, Redshift, or BigQuery)
