About the teamZillow’s Consolidation and Advancement of Platform Engineering (CAPE) organization is responsible for redefining Zillow's "classic" systems to more modern, standard solutions while concurrently instilling a culture of strong accountability and ownership within our engineering teams!
About the role
As the Sr. Manager, Enablement you’ll enable software teams across Zillow to increase their velocity by leading a newly crafted team of Site Reliability Engineers with strong Software Development backgrounds as they work to migrate our classic systems to our standard container-based platform! This newly established, dedicated task force is exclusively focused on taking charge of, and driving our migrations from existing “classic” platforms to our standard platform solutions across nearly all ZG Engineering Teams.
As a Senior Manager, Enablement you will:

Lead a team of 5-8 Site Reliability Engineers with strong software development backgrounds.

Collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, and program managers in multi-functional teams.

Be accountable for delivering high-quality, timely and on-budget migrations through the team.

Combine people and project management skills to lead a successful team through multiple sophisticated projects simultaneously.

Implement a series of migration waves.

Coordinate, supervise and communicate status and activities to peers, senior engineering leaders, and engineer executives.

Track, mitigate, resolve and escalate systemic and individual migration issues as required.

Build and maintain plans and forecasts with specified budgets and landmarks against which you can expertly implement.

Ensure transparency and precision in defining the scope of projects.

Plan, supervise and control multiple large-scale cloud migration projects through all phases of the project lifecycle.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $197,100.00 - $314,900.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
-
6+ years of software development experience as an individual contributor or team lead.

3+ years in a management or tech leadership role.

Bachelor's or Master's degree with a preference for Computer Science degree.

Experience migrating large projects to new platforms.

Experience partnering with developers, product managers, engineering leaders and cross-functional partners.

Experience driving the technical strategy of your team.

Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.

Proven experience mentoring and growing successful engineering teams.

High level understanding of application architecture, shared services, interfaces and database systems.
