As a Senior Manager in Data Strategy and Governance, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that data across Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is understood, trusted, and accessible, enabling high-quality reporting solutions. Collaborate with FFIO, Asset Management (AM), and FFIO Technology to improve data governance, expand the data catalog, and modernize reporting with OBI and Power BI.
- Partner with Technology and AM Data Governance resources to define and implement a Data Catalog strategy.
- Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and subject matter experts to improve and maintain data taxonomy and business glossaries.
- Develop and deliver educational materials and training to improve associates’ understanding of the data environment.
- Advance FFIO’s reporting strategy by improving usability and scalability while ensuring compliance with data policies and governance standards.
- Proactively engage with service line managers, enterprise cybersecurity and other parties to implement access profiles and entitlements that support appropriate data access controls.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's, Master’s degree or equivalent experience with a focus in Finance, Data Analysis or Data Visualization
- 8 plus years of experience in Financial Services, Data Governance, or Business Intelligence.
- 3 plus years of experience with data analysis or data management
- Experience with data catalog tools, Power BI, or OBIEE preferred.
- Solid grasp of Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence concepts, including Master Data Management.
- Strong expertise in data visualization, reporting frameworks, BI architecture, and experience with tools such as Power BI and OBIEE.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and ability to navigate sophisticated organizations, removing roadblocks and driving collaboration across business and technology teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and business writing skills, with the ability to develop educational materials that improve data literacy.
- Strategic approach focused on continuous improvement and innovation, with validated ability to lead and influence across diverse teams.
- Experience with or skills for managing data cataloging and collaboration tools (e.g., Informatica Analyst, Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, Collibra, Mind Manager, SharePoint).
The Team
The FFIO Data Strategy and Governance team is part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO). FFIO provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products.
The FFIO Data Strategy and Governance group is dedicated to data and emphasizes three specific areas.
- Manage the FFIO Data Governance Program. The program is in partnership with Asset Management and aligned with the enterprise Data Management Council to deliver on program goals that will ensure that data is understood, trusted, and becomes easier to access, use, and shared.
- Engage with the FFIO Data Strategy, which aims to define comprehensive, high-quality data solutions to eliminate data redundancy, drive scale and create a dynamic data environment.
- Enable Business Intelligence and Analytics via OBIEE and Power BI. Developing OBIEE solutions through Inquiry Workbench on FFIO-owned subject areas of data for FFIO, AM and other Fidelity Associates. While supporting a robust, scalable, governed Power BI framework for FFIO.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
