Roche has established Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence (GATE) in India to drive analytics & technology driven solutions by partnering with Roche affiliates across the globe.

Senior Manager - Data Science will work closely with stakeholders in the business teams across Roche’s global affiliates managing deliveries of projects in machine learning, NLP, deep learning and Generative AI. The candidate must have strong leadership experience with a good healthcare domain knowledge.

Your Opportunity

• Build and deploy scalable machine learning models using cloud-based services such as AWS

• Strong understanding of deep learning algorithms, statistics, and recommendation systems. Comprehensive understanding of state-of-the-art language models.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Spark, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify creative solutions to complex problems

• Manage a team of over 15 resources and be responsible for the delivery of services as well as mentoring the team members

• Stay abreast of evolving technologies and champion the voice of GATE by offering consulting services to our business partners

• Partner with the leaders across the organization to understand their business needs and develop support model for them

• Pitch GATE capabilities to the parts of organization that are not familiar with GATE and explore partnership opportunities by offering tangible solutions to meet their business requirements

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring technical designs and solutions meet their strategic goals

• Works closely with other internal teams of RSS India to identify areas that offer opportunities to collaborate and jointly develop AI / NLP enabled solutions for the business partners

Who you are

• You hold a master’s degree (Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Economics/Econometrics, Computer Science) and 10 years of experience with minimum 5 years of experience in data science / ML. Knowledge of the healthcare domain is a big plus.

• Proven experience of leading and growing engineering teams with a track record of developing talent and fostering a collaborative team environment

• Demonstrable experience leading multiple teams of analysts and engineers in a DevOps model, driving continuous integration and delivery practices

• Proven experience of innovation, Lean and agile delivery methodologies. Experience with implementing these methodologies to enhance efficiency and drive project success

• Experience with the design and delivery of advanced machine learning projects

• Knowledge of US and/or EU pharmaceutical market and experience with pharmaceutical data would be a plus, but not a must
